Bayer, Syngenta Take Separate Paths on EU Bee-Killing Pesticide Ruling (1)

Bayer AG and Syngenta AG are taking very different approaches to a European Union court ruling that backed a moratorium on certain uses of three neonicotinoid pesticides they make.

The ruling, issued by the EU General Court in May, said the European Commission, the EU’s executive arm, was justified in imposing the moratorium on the three substances—clothianidin, imidacloprid, and thiamethoxam—because of fears about their effects on bee health.
