Dupont, Chemours Settle Chemical Trial Claims for $670.7 Million

DuPont Co. and former unit Chemours Co. agreed to pay a combined $670.7 million to settle personal injury lawsuits in Ohio related to a Teflon chemical found in water supplies.

The agreed sum relates to 3,550 claims, Wilmington, Del.,-based DuPont said in a statement on Feb. 13. Both companies deny any wrongdoing. DuPont made C-8, also known as PFOA, in Parkersburg, W. Va., for Teflon nonstick coatings, stain-resistant carpets and firefighting foams.
