EPA Sued Over Oil Extraction in California’s Price Canyon

The EPA erred when it exempted the Arroyo Grande Aquifer near California’s Price Canyon from the Safe Drinking Water Act to allow new crude oil extraction, a lawsuit filed Nov. 21 says.

The Environmental Protection Agency failed to assess the environmental impacts of its decision about the San Luis Obispo County aquifer, and it didn’t address threats to the survival of the Pismo clarkia plant and other endangered species in the Price Canyon area, the Center for Biological Diversity said.
