EPA’s ‘Secret Science’ Plan Divides Agency’s Advisers

The EPA’s science advisers delivered a mixed bag of responses about the agency’s idea of a “tiered” approach to handling individuals’ private health information.

The Sept. 30 report from the Science Advisory Board to Administrator Andrew Wheeler formalizes the board’s thinking and will be used to guide the Environmental Protection Agency’s next steps. It also confirms the board couldn’t reach a consensus, mirroring comments made in an Aug. 27 advisory board meeting about the issue.
