Maryland is “not pleased” with Exelon Generation Company LLC’s response to the state’s plea for help in cleaning debris from recent storms that is now flooding into the Chesapeake Bay, the state’s governor said Aug. 7.
“They’re not doing their part,” Gov. Larry Hogan (R) said of company, which owns and operates the Conowingo Dam hydropower station at the mouth of the Susquehanna River. Record-setting flooding upstream recently forced the dam’s owner to open floodgates, unleashing a torrent of tires, trees, and trash into the bay.
