Frustration ‘at Boiling Point’ Over Australia PFAS Inquiry Delay

Communities contaminated by chemicals known as PFAS have pleaded with the Australian government to release its response to a parliamentary inquiry into the chemicals’ use at defense bases.

For residents, “frustration is at boiling point,” Lindsay Clout, president of the Coalition Against PFAS, told Bloomberg Environment.

The government is past the three-month statutory deadline to respond to the report, released December 2018 on the inquiry into the management of PFAS contamination in and around defense bases by the Joint Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defense and Trade.
