In Reversal, Pennsylvania Nuclear Plant Will Remain Open (1)

Energy Harbor Corp. has decided not to close a Pennsylvania nuclear plant scheduled to go dark next year after the state moved to join an effort that will help reactors compete with fossil-fuel plants.

The company notified grid operator PJM Interconnection LLC on Friday that it had rescinded its 2018 deactivation notice for both units at the 1,872-megawatt Beaver Valley power plant, according to a statement.
