Monsanto’s $21.5 Million Roundup Labeling Class Deal Affirmed

A $21.5 million settlement between Monsanto Co. and consumers over allegedly misleading labels on concentrated versions of Roundup weedkiller was properly approved, the Eighth Circuit said Aug. 20.

The objector failed to show the trial court erred in approving the settlement and a $6.2 million fee award to class counsel, Chief Judge Lavenski R. Smith wrote for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.

Over 70,000 consumers who made valid claims will receive full reimbursement for the products they bought, totaling $10.7 million.
