New Superfund Chief Hails From Company With History of Pollution

The EPA’s choice to lead the agency in cleaning up toxic sites around the U.S. previously represented LyondellBasell—a company that is liable for more than $100 million to clean up to contaminated sites.

Steven Cook will chair the Superfund task force, which is implementing Administrator Scott Pruitt’s initiatives to hasten cleanup and push sites toward redevelopment, the Environmental Protection Agency told Bloomberg Environment.
