Top Energy Regulator Eyes Pipelines but Keeps Mum on Coal

Newly minted energy regulator Kevin McIntyre isn’t tipping his hand when it comes to the Trump administration’s contentious plan to save coal. But he does have plans for pipelines.

Leading his first Federal Energy Regulatory Commission meeting as chairman, McIntyre kept mum about what’s next for the plan to reward coal and nuclear for storing fuel on-site. Instead, he announced a hefty list of other changes that include reviewing a policy governing pipeline approvals and strengthening reporting requirements for grid cybersecurity.
