President Donald Trump has signed legislation providing updated and more precise flood maps that will allow coastal state property owners in Delaware, Florida, and North Carolina to more easily access federal flood insurance and federally backed mortgages.
The president also signed another measure—the National Quantum Initiative Act (H.R. 6227), that creates a quantum science office in the White House and other agencies to advance research and development in quantum computing.
Both measures were signed late Dec. 21.
The Strengthening Coastal Communities Act (H.R. 5787) was sponsored by Rep. Neal Dunn (R-Fla.)
