U.S., Canada Focus on Five Chemicals for Risk Assessment

U.S. and Canadian officials are developing case studies to evaluate similarities and differences in how they would assess the risks of five chemicals or groups of chemicals, according to a webinar held Dec. 14 by Environment Canada, the Environmental Protection Agency and Health Canada.

The five chemicals and groups of chemicals are 4-tert-octylphenol, triphenyl phosphate, phthalic anhydride, cyanide compounds and molybendum compounds, said Tala Henry, director of the risk assessment division within the EPA’s Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics.
