Cedar Point Worker’s Skylight Fall Leads to $142K Proposed Fine

Ohio’s Cedar Point amusement park faces up to $142,270 in workplace safety violation penalties because an employee fell more than 12 feet through a skylight.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration issued one citation Sept. 13 to the Sandusky-based company for three alleged rule violations in April, including not properly training employees about fall hazards and not provided some protection from falling.

The citation alleged one willful violation for the lack of fall protection near a roof’s edge and while working by a skylight, for which the agency proposed a $129,336 fine. The...
