OSHA Seeks to Lift Injury Report Requirement for Big Companies

The Trump administration is a major step closer to rolling back portions of an Obama-era workplace safety rule mandating large employers provide the agency details on injury and illness cases.

On July 26, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration released proposed changes to the agency’s electronic record-keeping rule (RIN:1218-AD17). Among the potential revisions are dropping the mandate that employers with 250 or more workers share with OSHA reports summarizing all injury and illness cases that required more than first aid treatment.
