Syngenta Pays Fraction of $4.8M Fine for Harming Farmworkers

Syngenta Seeds, LLC, a pesticide company in Hawaii, will pay a small fraction of the original $4.8 million fine that the EPA sought after the company allegedly violated the agency’s rules protecting farmworkers.

The Syngenta subsidiary agreed to pay the Environmental Protection Agency a $150,000 fine and spend an additional $400,000 to train local growers on how to comply with federal worker protection rules.
