Inspections by federal workplace safety regulators under the Trump administration in fiscal year 2018 continued at about the same pace as in the final year of the Obama administration, preliminary data from OSHA shows.
Occupational Safety and Health Administration inspectors conducted 32,020 inspections in fiscal 2018, down 1 percent from fiscal year 2017, according to agency.
However, the fiscal 2018 total is higher than for the final full year of the Obama administration, fiscal year 2016, when the agency made 31,948 inspections.
The fiscal 2018 total could change as the agency continues to review the reports.
